Stop Fundamentalism - Osama Al-Nujaifi, a leader of the Iraqia bloc and the Head of Parliament in Iraq expressed concerns in a statement yesterday that “human rights is violated widely in Iraq,” reported Aljazeera TV.
Iraqia bloc that has gone on a head-to-head crash path with the Nouri al-Maliki government since the American Troops pullout, has boycotted the government alleging Maliki to be trying to bring back dictatorial rule to Iraq by isolating dissident voices.
Stop Fundamentalism – At least 30 villagers in the Kurdish border region of Turkey have died following an air-attack by Turkey’s military forces today, report AFP and Kurdish media.
The attack was on a village with Kurd population near the Iraqi border. The name of the village is Ortasu in the border region province of Sirnak.
Stop Fundamentalism – An Iranian dissident television station, Simay-e Azadi reported today that a number of rockets have hit the southern part of Camp Ashraf in Iraq. The TV station that stopped its normal television programming to report on the development did not mention any casualties among residents.
The rockets landed close to residential compound, reported the TV station.
Camp Ashraf was the target of raid last April in which 36 unarmed residents were killed. Since then the Iraqi government of Nouri al-Maliki has pressed the resident to leave the camp. The residents have filed for asylum with the United Nations Refugee agency UNHCR.
Stop Fundamentalism – Iranian Resistance sources reported Tuesday night that another round of rockets have been fired at Camp Ashraf in Iraq where 3400 Iranian exiled dissidents live away from Iranian regime’s rule. This is the second time in the past 24 hours that the camp has been targeted by Katusha rockets.
The rockets landed inside the camp area at 8 pm local time, exactly the same as the reported attack time last night when the first attack occurred.
The rockets were fired from the southern side of the camp and landed near a residential compound housing the residents. There are no reports of possible casualties yet. The residents are searching the area at night time to gather evidence and assess damages.
Allegations against Vice-President and one of Al-Iraqiya’s leaders, Tareq Al-Hashemi, are “fabricated, false with no credence.”
Stop Fundamentalism –The Iraqi head of al-Iraqiya bloc, Dr. Ayad Allawi, has asked Ban Ki-moon, United Nations’ General Secretary to appoint a special human rights envoy for Iraq, said Arabic news agency, Al-Malaf on Wednesday.
In an interview with Al-Malaf, Allawy warned about recent developments in Iraq and said that the bloc’s participants in the cabinet of Nouri al-Maliki will have to stop attending meetings if the current situation continues. He also expressed concern that the current crisis would destroy the political process in Iraq and open ways for the Iranian regime to interfere in the country.
