Iran leads Group E of Asian Qualifier Games followed by Bahrain, Qatar, and Indonesia in that respect.

Former Portugal national team coach, Carlos Queiroz, will be coaching Iran for the Brazil games.  The country has already attended World Cup three times in Argentina 1978, 1998 in France and 2006 Germany.

Queiroz told reporters Sunday that his team is “well prepared to face Bahrain in the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.”

Meanwhile Queiroz has introduced the 22 Iranian players who will be playing against Palestine and Bahrain.

Meanwhile, Javad Nekounam, who has been playing in Football leagues in Spain, arrived in Tehran, Monday to join the rest of the team.  He will be the captain of the team during the two matches.

“We’ve got some good players but need better teamwork,” said Nekoonam to FIFA.com reporter raising concern about the fact that his team doesn’t play together much often.
