Iran Regime Leader's Boast out of Fear

On Saturday, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, declared that Saudi Arabia’s monarchy faces “certain downfall” by its alignment  with the US, and that its regime may be toppled sooner rather than later.

According to Reuters, at an event that marked the beginning of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan with a Koran reading, Khamenei  said, “They will face certain downfall. They might stay for some time; it depends on how the believers of the community take action. If they act correctly, it will happen sooner. If they don’t [react], it might take longer.”An English transcript of his words was provided on his website During the religious gathering, Khamnei said, as well, “They will be gone, they can be toppled and can perish [or be destroyed]… there is no doubt about it… it is certain that it will happen.”

International Efforts to Curb Iranian Threat

Threats to Saudi Arabia have been made in recent days by officials of Iran. It is just one more incident in a series of provocations carried out by the Islamic Republic. Tensions between the two countries have been getting worse. 

The threat was made by the Defence Minister of Iran, Hossein Dehqan, following comments made by the heir apparent to the kingdom, Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Director of National Intelligence Declares Iran Is Still Supporting Assad Regime

Analysts have been accusing Iran of propping up Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad’s regime for a long time. Iran has also been named the leading state sponsor of terrorism by experts all over the world. This has recently been confirmed by the top intelligence chief Dan Coats. 

Coats, the Director of National Intelligence, said that the behaviour of the Islamic Republic has not changed since the nuclear deal was signed.

Iran to Launch Two New Satellites into Space, Similar to ICBMs

According to an announcement by Iranian military leaders Iran is preparing to launch two new domestic satellites into space. 

This is a cause for U.S. National Security concern, who worry that the move may be a cover for the test firing of advanced intercontinental ballistic missile technology.

This news comes as the Trump administration continues its review of the Iran nuclear agreement, and according to U.S. officials, will result in a full-scale plan to “meet the challenges Iran poses with clarity and conviction.”

For years and years, Syrian allies – mainly Iran and Russia - have made excuses to keep Bashar al Assad in power and have used many tactics to shrug off the political pressure on them. 

Allies would say that they were going to let Assad go as the President of Syria so that fighting could come to an end. But then they would say that they are waiting for his presidential term to be over so that the constitution is respected. But then, as everyone was patiently waiting, the 2014 elections happened and, surprise surprise, Assad was re-elected. Somehow.
