The MEK Speaks Out About Iran’s Nuclear Program

nuclear activities

The Iranian regime has constantly denied that it is building an arsenal of nuclear weapons. However, the United States State Department’s Bureau of Arms Control, Verification and Compliance have supported the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran) role in exposing the Iranian regime’s secret nuclear program.

The Bureau believes that the Iranian regime is infringing the nuclear Non–Proliferation Treaty (NPT). It was back in 2002 when the MEK highlighted that the regime would be building nuclear weapons and the proof of this was the construction of suitable infrastructure at Natanz and Arak.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) was never told about this. This initiated inspections by the IAEA and at that time Iran was considered to be non-compliant.

In 2009, the MEK reported regime was developing uranium

The regime responded by stating that a uranium facility was under construction in Qom. This led to several United Nations’ Security Council resolutions on Iran from 2006 to 2011. Five of these were related to compulsory obligations under Chapter VII of the UN Charter.

The MEK later said the regime had failed to tell the truth about its intention to shut down its nuclear sites after the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which should have overseen an end to Iran’s nuclear weapons development in exchange for the lifting of sanctions.

If the MEK hadn’t publicized the Iranian regime’s nuclear program the Middle East today may have seen a nuclear Iran or even an arms race. However, Iran is flouting its commitment under the 2015 nuclear deal because of its stockpiling of uranium that was enriched far beyond acceptable levels.

The US has stated that the regime should comply fully and cooperate with the IAEA promptly.

Because the MEK told the international community about the regime’s objectives to construct nuclear weapons, there would be today in existence a fascist religious dictatorship with nuclear weapons with the intention of carrying out state-sponsored terrorism.

According to the MEK, the regime has wastefully disposed of billions of dollars so that it can become a nuclear power rather than spending much-needed cash on healthcare or assisting the unemployed.
