Iran Executes 12 in City of Shiraz

Stop Fundamentalism – Iran executed 12 prisoners in the central city of Shiraz Sunday 15 January, report Iranian news agencies.  

Five of the prisoners were hanged in public in various locations in the city and the reset were hanged in Adelabab prison in a group execution.

Iran has executed over 43 prisoners during the past two weeks since the start of the New Year according to publicly announced government figures. 

Amnesty International says over 600 people were executed last year which is double the number for the previous year.

While most of those executed in Iran are those charged with civil crimes, the Iranian regime uses the executions to keep pressure on the Iranian people and specially the youth.
