Gholamhossein Esmaili, A spokesman for Iran’s Judiciary says there are no political prisoners in Iran. He made the claim during a live televised program, after being asked about the recent death of a political prisoner murdered in Tehran’s notorious Fashafuyeh Prison.

At the Orumieh Central Prison in Iran’s northwestern province of West Azarbaijan human rights violations are prevalent and prison officials are smuggling narcotics.

At the Orumieh Central Prison in Iran’s northwestern province of West Azarbaijan human rights violations are prevalent and prison officials are smuggling narcotics.

Sixty percent of inmates at the prison are Sunni Kurds while the other 40% are Shiite Turks. Kurd prisoners have been sent from other cities to the prison and usually, have long sentences.

The executive order that US President Trump signed this week has sent new shockwaves through the theocratic dictatorship by imposing another round of sanctions on Iran aimed at supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The sanctions appear to specifically target Khamenei, along with foreign minister Javad Zarif and eight senior commanders of Navy, Aerospace and Ground Forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps — itself recently listed as a foreign terrorist organization by the Americans.

On Monday, Donald Trump met one of the demands of the Iranian-American community by putting sanctions on Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and a whole host of his cronies, something that the Iranian Diaspora had advocated for in Washington DC on Friday.

Of course, the most important demand of the rally – regime change in Iran – will take longer to accomplish, but Trump will not be the one to do it. It’s not that the US couldn’t, but that it is the Iranian people’s right to depose the malign mullahs that have wreaked havoc on their country.

On Monday June 17, Ghasem Mirza Neko, Member of Iranian parliament, called the “export of revolution” and “waging war against the world” as the reasons of tough situation inside Iran. Apparently this was a reaction to the critics of hard conditions inside Iran.

“When you want to live in a cave, when you want to fight the whole world and export the revolution to everywhere, you have to accept hardships, not just for 14 years, but for much longer than that."

A decision has been made by the Iranian resistance to raise the profile of their movement against the regime in Western capitals in Europe and the U.S., because as tensions increase in the Persian Gulf over multiple tanker attacks, Iran in the news daily.

Several thousand Iranians gathered opposite the EU headquarters in Schuman Place last Saturday, and marched in central Brussels. The march in Brussels was the first of a series of Iranian marches around the world, according to its organizers. The next is scheduled to be held in Washington, D.C., on June 21st. This is the first time that the Iranian opposition has organized a wave of major protests in major Western capitals.
