Global Protests Organized by the Iranian Resistance

A decision has been made by the Iranian resistance to raise the profile of their movement against the regime in Western capitals in Europe and the U.S., because as tensions increase in the Persian Gulf over multiple tanker attacks, Iran in the news daily.

Several thousand Iranians gathered opposite the EU headquarters in Schuman Place last Saturday, and marched in central Brussels. The march in Brussels was the first of a series of Iranian marches around the world, according to its organizers. The next is scheduled to be held in Washington, D.C., on June 21st. This is the first time that the Iranian opposition has organized a wave of major protests in major Western capitals.

Crude Oil Suspected of Being of Iranian Origin Rejected by Italy's Eni SpA

A cargo of crude oil was recently rejected by Italy’s oil giant Eni SpA because it bore the hallmarks of Iranian crude. Energy companies must now grapple with sophisticated techniques used by Iran to evade U.S. sanctions.

The cargo remains on board a Liberia-flagged vessel named White Moon, after Eni said the specifications didn’t match those of its contract for Iraqi oil. The ship’s documents show that the cargo, which Eni bought from the trading arm of Nigeria’s Oando PLC, was Iraqi, an Eni spokesman said.

In an effort to stop Iran from using backdoor financial methods as a means to skirt U.S. economic sanctions in its business dealings with leading European nations, the Trump administration is considering new sanctions.

These sanctions would directly target the alternate financial body set up by Tehran to ensure it can continue engaging in lucrative trade deals with Europe in the face of heavy U.S. sanctions. Iran's Special Trade and Finance Institute (STFI) was meant to replace the Instrument in Support of Trade Exchanges (ISTEX), which France, Germany, and the United Kingdom created in January to facilitate trade with Iran.

On Saturday, June 15, 2019, thousands of Iranians gathered for a large protest demonstration in Brussels. They were protesting the brutal violation of human rights by the Iranian regime as well as the regime’s instigation of terrorism and warmongering in the region.

The crowd voiced their support for the Iranian Resistance movement led by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) along with the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and the MEK’s resistance units inside the country.
