A tanker carrying Iranian oil was seized in the Strait of Gibraltar by British Marines in the early hours of Thursday, in an incident that demonstrates both the Iranian regime’s commitment to defying US-led sanctions and the likely effectiveness of Western measures for enforcing them. It was reported that the ship in question, the Grace 1, had aroused suspicions by turning off its transponder in an effort to hide a portion of its route, but was nonetheless spotted on satellite imagery at an Iranian oil port. From there, it took a circuitous route around Africa in order to reach the Mediterranean, where it was apparently destined for Syria.

In a public statement, the general prosecutor of Arak, central Iran, declared, “Playing and walking with dogs in public is prohibited and will be seriously dealt with.”

In a public statement, the general prosecutor of Arak, central Iran, declared, “Playing and walking with dogs in public is prohibited and will be seriously dealt with.”

“Playing and walking with dogs in public is a deviance from moral and Islamic values. It hurts religious sentiments of citizens and it scares children, juveniles, girls and the elderly, and poses dangers such as attacking and biting; according to article 522 of the Islamic punishment law it is prosecutable,” he added.

Tensions between the United States and Iran have been heating up in recent weeks. A major conflict looked set to start until U.S. President Donald Trump decided to call off a retaliatory strike at the last minute.

Trump showed restraint in calling off a confrontation after the Iranian regime shot down an unmanned U.S. drone and then continued to brag about the cost of the damage it had inflicted on “the enemy”.
