Every year, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) holds a “Free Iran” rally in Paris. It is traditionally attended by tens of thousands of Iranians from all over the world and hundreds of international politicians, officials, former officials, human rights activists, lawmakers and dignitaries. Every year the rally gets bigger and the support for the main opposition to the Iranian regime grows.
The Iranian regime sees the main opposition as a major threat. And for good reason. The NCRI values all of the things that the Iranian regime does not – human rights, freedom, democracy, equality, and so on.

Enthusiastic supporters are optimistic that a transition is achievable, now, while Iran is rocked with mass protests that have spread across the country, which are viewed as the most serious threat in the Islamic state’s history.

Earlier this week in Belgium, an Iranian diplomat and members of what authorities described as an “Iranian sleeper cell” were arrested as they allegedly planned to bomb the annual conference of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) that took place last Saturday, June 30th, outside of Paris. Several European intelligence agencies were involved in the arrests, which were announced by Belgium’s Minister of the Interior, Jan Jambon.

Saudi state-owned news channel Al-Ekhbariya reported on Friday that Ahmed Obeid bin Daghr, Yemen’s Prime Minister, said his government is moving towards regaining control of the state and extending its influence over all regions.

The prime minster said that “the determination of the political leadership - supported the Saudi-led Arab coalition - to move forward in a steady and steadfast way towards restoring the state and extending state control over all provinces,” during his meeting with the Governor of Hajjah, Abdulkarim Al-Sinayy.
