Iranian Film ‘A Separation’ by Asghar Farhadi Gets Golden Globe Awards

SF News – Iranian movie maker Ashrar Farhadi was in Hollywood last night to receive the Golden Globe prize for his movie ‘Nader and Simin, A Separation’ as the best foreign language film.

‘A Separation’ had received the Golden Bear Film Awards earlier in Berlin, Germany.   Two of the casts also received the Silver Bear at this festival.

Another Film Festival, Ashghar Farhadi’s movie received recognition at was in Saint Petersburg Russian wining the Grand Award for the best film.  Armenia’s Golden Apricot was also given to his movie.

The movie has become the cause of Iranian celebration in social media as they are happy to see one of their country man has made a great achievement.  A picture of Ashgar Farhadi with a number of celebrities such as Angelina Jolie is receiving much attention on Facebook for this reason.

The Golden Globes are considered the second most importance Film Awards after Oscars.

The film is about an Iranian couple contemplating to leave their country.
