Young Resistance units in Iran, as well as supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran), have been taking to the streets during the past few weeks to voice their opposition to the mullahs’ regime.

So there is nothing better as far as the mullahs’ regime is concerned than frightening people into taking part in widespread protests and uprisings.

It is doing this by creating an atmosphere of fear by conducting widespread executions, issuing long-term prison sentences, and arresting young people to intimidate them. These all breach the Iranian people’s right to freedom of expression which is all but non-existent in Iran today.

Threats made to the Iranian people breach human rights as they deny the right to free speech

  1. The clerical regime’s head of the Justice Department Mohammad Reza Habibi, in Isfahan, told how he feared a further uprising and he now calls them ‘Corruption of the Earth and he has warned The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran) that if they promote any more “corruption of the earth” protests the participants will be arrested and may be subject to long stays in prison and even the death penalty.
  2. Nasruddin Salehi, the regime’s Public Prosecutor of Shahinshahr and Meymeh, released a statement to the agency ISNA, stating that death sentences and imprisonment would be imposed on anyone involved in armed robbery and last November’s protest leaders riots that “destroyed public property with detailed prior plans.” On top of that, he announced that anyone who disturbs the public by telling lies using digital means may see themselves serving between 91 days and 24 months in prison plus a fine.
  3. Amir Hossein Moradi, 26, Saeed Tamjidi, 28, and Mohammad Rajabi, 26, who is in prison following their arrests in the November uprising are now likely to be executed.
  4. The Ministry of Intelligence, the IRGC’s Intelligence Organization, and other oppressors have gone about arresting, summoning, and threatening many youth supporters, and families of (PMOI / MEK Iran) in Tehran and in Gilan, Kermanshah, and Khuzestan provinces. Also, the intelligence and security forces have made contact with a large number of young people in many cities, telling them if they contact the (PMOI / MEK Iran) that they will be dealt with.

The Iranian Resistance is requesting the United Nations Secretary-General, the UN Human Rights Council and the High Commissioner for Human Rights, as well as relevant rapporteurs and other human rights organizations, to save political prisoners lives in Iran.

This is repeating the call made by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), for the forming of an international fact-finding delegation which should come to visit Iranian prisons and meet with these prisoners who have been imprisoned for the words they have uttered against the regime.
