Stop Fundamentalism – Nouri al-Maliki government has executed Saddam era official Thursday, say news agencies.
Abed Hammoud was the private secretary of Saddam Hussein and is said to have been a very close to him and a strong figure during Iraq’s former regime.
“The Ministry of Justice carried out the execution of the private secretary of President Saddam Hussein,” said Iraq’s Justice Ministry spokesman, Haidar al-Saadi to reporters today.
Hammoud was sentenced to death by the Iraqi High Criminal Court back in October 2010. U.S. forces arrested him in 2003. He was number 4 on America’s wanted list of Iraq’s former officials following Saddam himself and his two sons.
