Stop Fundamentalism – Iraqi Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zebari told Al-Sharqia News Monday that all Kurdish ministers in Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s government are ready to pullout as soon as the Kurdish region president, Massoud Barzani would call on them to do so.

Al-Sharqia says this is the first time that a high ranking official of the Iraqi government publicly states such threats.

Tensions between the Iraqi central government and the Kurdish autonomous administration of President Massoud Barzani have been soaring in recent months.  The Kurds are demanding complete self determination over oil sales.

The new development comes at a time when street demonstrations and show of discontent about Nouri al-Maliki’s government continue in Baghdad and other cities in Iraq.

At the same time Al-Iraqia bloc has called for all its ministers to pullout of the government in protest for crackdown and killing of those who participate in demonstrations.

The demonstrations have been ongoing for the past two months.
