President Jalal Talabani in Stable Condition: Iraqi Official

Stop Fundamentalism – Iraqi Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zebari, denied today any news about Iraqi President Jalal Talabani’s death, after a suffered stroke last night, says Al-Arabyia news agency.

 

“The President was transferred to a hospital in Baghdad on Monday evening after suffering a health emergency,” says a statement from the President’s office.

 

Speculations by some Arab media today was that, Jalal Talabani has died following his condition

Talabani is under close medical attention and a team of Iraqi medical specialists are keeping a close eye on his condition.

Presidents office blames his condition on recent problems in the country that led to stress and fatigue.  The office will issue a report about his condition later.

Talabani is 79 years old from Iraq’s Kurdistan region. He has undergone heart surgery before in the United States.  He has repeated been treated in the United States and Europe this year for medical complications.
