Zibary Trip to Iran

Stop Fundamentalism, 16 May 2011 - There seems to be a lot of trips back and forth between Tehran and Baghdad lately.  The latest man to be received in Tehran is Iraq’s Prime Minister Zibary. 

Fars News Agency reported yesterday that just before a High Commission on Economic Cooperation between Iran and Iraq, Houshyar Zibary, will be visiting Tehran in the next few days.

The Economic Commission will meet in June, says the news agency.

Zibary is planning to meet high ranking Iranian officials in this meeting to make preparations for the Baghdad meeting, reports Fars News.

Rajavi Calls for France Sarkozy’s Initiative to Protect Camp Ashraf

Stop Fundamentalism, 16 May 2011 – In a press conference Friday, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran called on the French President Sarkozy to step in to protect the unarmed residents of Camp Ashraf.

“I make a specific request today to President Sarkozy who has taken a brave initiative in Libya, to take up an international initiative within the humanitarian and human rights framework, to protect the defenseless residents of Ashraf,” said Rajavi speaking to a press conference in Paris. She asked Sarkozy, “To present this case at the United Nations Security Council.”

Europe MEPs Call to End Siege on Camp Ashraf

Stop Fundamentalism, May 11 – A delegation of European Parliament members who visited Baghdad at the end of April to discuss a solution to the faceoff at Camp Ashraf which claimed the lives of 35 residents of the camp, called for resettlement of the refugees to EU and North America in a press conference Tuesday.

Stop Fundamentalism, 5 April, 2011 - Four Members of the European Parliament, Struan Stevenson (ECR, UK), John Attard-Montalto (S&D, MT), Jelko Kacin (ALDE, SL), Mario Mauro (EPP, IT) visited Iraq on 26-29 April to meet political leaders in that country, reported the website of the European Parliament.

Stevenson called for an independent inquiry into the recent massacre in Camp Ashraf on 8 April.
