Monday Dec 12, 2005 – An Italian court ordered a freeze of all Iranian embassy bank accounts in that country, on charges of supporting terrorist groups like Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
The bank accounts which held well over 640 million dollars, provided financial support for the groups.
According to informed sources, the court made the decision following reports that Iran spends one million dollars yearly to support Palestinian groups and 75 million dollars yearly to support international terrorism.
The source emphasized that the freeze of bank accounts had nothing to do with the remarks Iran president Ahmadinejad had made regarding Israel.
