The Comitato Interparliamentary per un-Iran Libero (CIIL), an Italian parliamentary committee, has raised serious concerns over the Iranian regime's escalating repression and its ominous intentions regarding Iranian Resistance members residing in Europe.

In a recent statement, the CIIL highlighted the regime’s growing desperation and aggression as the anniversary of Mahsa Amini’s killing and subsequent protests drew near.

As per the CIIL’s communique, the Iranian regime appears to be increasingly apprehensive about the possibility of a new uprising and is actively seeking to divert international attention away from its egregious actions. Consequently, it has ramped up its demonization campaign against the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).

The CIIL’s statement goes beyond mere expressions of concern. It unequivocally calls for the leaders of the Iranian regime to be held accountable on the international stage. Specifically, the CIIL urges that these leaders face judgment in an international tribunal for their involvement in terrorist attacks beyond Iran’s borders and for their repeated and severe human rights violations within the country.

This call for accountability underscores the importance of international justice in addressing the actions of the Iranian regime. As the CIIL statement suggests, the international community must not turn a blind eye to these concerning developments and must take concrete steps to ensure that those responsible for repression and human rights abuses in Iran are held accountable for their actions.
