Motorola buys Broadbus Technologies

AFX, Sept 8 – Telecommunications equipment maker Motorola Inc. said Friday it has completed the acquisition of privately held Broadbus Technologies Inc., which provides technology for video on demand.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Founded in 1999, Boxborough, Mass.-based Broadbus has provided its Television on Demand service through more than 60 providers worldwide.

Broadbus’ management team and employees will remain based in Boxborough and will be integrated into Motorola’s connected home solutions business.

Motorola shares ended the session up 66 cents, or 2.9 percent, at $23.70 on the New York Stock Exchange.
