Syria – Over 90 Dead Including at least 25 children

Stop Fundamentalism – Over 90 civilians, including 25 children, have been killed since Friday in bombing by the Syrian army in the Hula area, which is a town in central Syria, said the Syrian Observers of Human Rights Saturday.

“The shelling of the city began on Friday afternoon in the outskirts of Hula and continued until dawn,” said the head of SOHR, Rami Abdel Rahman to Albawaba News.

On Saturday, many residents of two villages there fled toward the center of Hula fearing new bombing.

Amateur videos posted on YouTube show horifiying images of dead children.

The SOHR has denounced the inaction of the international community and the Arab League, calling them “the Syrian regime’s accomplices in the massacre of Hula.”

On Friday night, Rami Abdel Rahman questioned the role of United Nations observers deployed in April to monitor a cease-fire that was largely ignored.

The Syrian National Council (SNC), the main opposition coalition, reported Friday night about “110 dead, half of them children” and urged the UN Security Council to convene an emergency meeting to discuss the situation in Hula.
