‘Nader and Simin, A Separation’ Will be Nominated for Oscars – Iranian Film Chief

SF News – The Head of IraninanFarabi Foundation predicted in an interview today that on Tuesday January 24 when the final names of Oscars nominees will be announced, ‘Nader and Simin, A Separation’ will definitely be among non-English productions named.

“The movie has been among the first picked during this time and seeing all the indications up until now and all the articles written about the movie, it seems Asghar Farhadi’s film will be picked as a first choice,” said Esfandiary, the Foundations chairman.

Iran last attended the Oscars in 1999 with movie “Children of Sky” by Majid Majidi. 

‘Nader and Simin, A Separtion’ by Asghar Farhadi recently won the Golden Globe Award for best foreign Language film.  The film has already won other awards in Europe and Russia.

The film is about an Iranian couple contemplating to leave their country.
