SF News – Researchers at Australia’s National Center for Epidemiology and Population Health have concluded, after many years of research, that while Vitamin C may not be so useful to prevent your body from catching a cold, as it was thought before, it may in fact help shorten the length of the cold.
The study showed that people who took vitamin C on daily basis caught the same number of colds as those who did not take any vitamin C supplement. But at the same time, the same study showed that in similar cases, a person taking a Vitamin C supplement, would suffer a shorter period of time from a cold that the person who did not take the supplement.
Vitamin C is naturally found in citrus fruit and other produce such as vegetables, peppers, strawberries and cantaloupes. Vitamin C also helps strengthens bones and muscles.
