Offering a comprehensive roadmap is the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) vision articulated in Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan. This plan, first presented at the Council of Europe in 2006, has since gained global backing, indicating shared aspirations for a democratic Iran.

Starting in September 2022, protests have showcased the Iranian public’s widespread discontent, making it clear that reverting to prior conditions is improbable. The present regime’s struggles to address national issues heighten the need to consider opposition-led alternatives for a post-regime Iran.

Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the NCRI, championed a Ten-Point Plan in 2006, which paints a portrait of a democratic, prosperous Iran, finding resonance with diverse Iranian demographics. This plan, grounded in democracy, human rights, and the rule of law, emphasizes key objectives:

– Rejecting absolute clerical rule in favor of a republic based on universal suffrage and pluralism.

– Ensuring freedoms of speech, assembly, and press.

– Upholding human rights consistent with international standards.

– Advocating for separation of religion and state.

– Ensuring gender equality across all sectors.

– Establishing an independent judiciary.

– Guaranteeing autonomy for nationalities and ethnicities.

– Ensuring equal opportunities in employment and entrepreneurship.

– Prioritizing environmental protection.

– Advocating for a non-nuclear Iran with international cooperation.

The NCRI, with its pivotal constituent, the People’s Mojahedin of Iran (PMOI/MEK), is actively propelling this vision, with the MEK notably highlighting the regime’s nuclear ambitions. This plan isn’t just theoretical; both organizations have consistently demonstrated their commitment to its tenets.

In 2023, international support for the plan has surged. Over 229 US Congress members, 250 members from both houses of the British Parliament, numerous Nobel Laureates, and officials from numerous countries have expressed their endorsement.

This global acknowledgment signifies a collective aspiration for a democratic Iran. Inside Iran, despite governmental restrictions, citizens have creatively expressed their support for the plan. Through graffiti, covert meetings, and discreet literature distribution, Iranians voice their longing for transformation.

The encompassing support for Mrs. Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan is an indication of its importance in shaping Iran’s potential democratic future. Iranians are not lost in history; they look forward to a future shaped by democracy, prosperity, and freedom, as the Ten-Point Plan articulates.
