52 executions during 17 day period in Iran

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has reported that there have been several more executions carried out in Iran by the fundamentalist regime. In their article they announce that on 27th July nine prisoners were hanged in the prisons of Orumiyeh, Mashhad, Yazd and Tehran. They say that six prisoners were hanged collectively in the Central Prison of Orumiyeh.

The week before, on 20th July, nine prisoners were executed in Gohardasht and Central prisons of Karaj. Three days later, three prisoners were executed in the Central Prison of Rasht. In Songhor in the western province of Kermanshah another prisoner was hanged in public.

Three executions also took place between 11th and 17th July meaning that a total of 52 people were executed in just a 17 day period.

The NCRI said: “Beset by numerous internal and international crises, the Iranian regime is incapable of responding to the most basic demands of the people of Iran. Fearing another upheaval by a restive populace, the regime resorts to wave of executions in cities across the country.”

The Iranian Resistance called on the people of Iran, especially the young people, to voice their protest to the mullahs’ continual repression.
