Tehran, Iran, Jan. 06 (Stop Fundamentalism) – A Farsi -language website reported on Friday that a 17-year-old girl, identified only by her first name Nazanin, was sentenced to be hanged in the city of Karaj, west of the Iranian capital. The verdict was handed down in branch 71 of Iran’s Islamic courts, the report said.
The hard-line daily Kayhan reported separately on Thursday that a 22-year-old woman, identified only by her first name Afsaneh, was sentenced to death by hanging along with two men in the city of Qazvin
A 19 year old girl was sentenced to death earlier this week. That brings the total number of executions handed down to young women in Iran to three in one week .
