Iran to Execute Child Boy for Crime Committed At Age of 8

Stop Fundamentalism –  The Iranian regime is planning to execute a boy for crime he allegedly committed when he was only 8 years old, reported Iranian state-run daily Sharq yesterday.

The daily said the boy who is now over the age of 18 is charged with committing a murder when he was eight.  He is scheduled to be executed next week.

According to the Iranian laws any child who commits a crime that is punishable by death, the execution will be deferred until he or she is at the “legal age.”

But the “legal age” in Iran is also a subject for debate among authorities.  While in this case the boy is now 18, according to the Iranian laws drawn from Islamic Sharia, the legal age for boys is 15 and for girls is just 9.
