Iranian Political Prisoner Dies in Prison Deprived of Medical Attention by Officials

Stop Fundamentalism – An Iranian political prisoner, former employee of Iran’s National Oil Company, died on April 6 after being denied access to necessary medical treatment by Tehran’s’ chief prosecutor, Jafari Dolatabadi, says a statement released today by the Iranian opposition.

Alireza Karami Kheirabadi, spent 16 years in various Iranian prisons on political charges, says the National Council of Resistance of Iran.  while the statement did not specify his exact charges, he was associated was known with other pro-MEK prisoners.

Kheirabadi’s condition deteriorated during the past two weeks due to a heart conditions but the prosecution rejected his transfer to hospital.

The NCRI called on the international community to take immediate action with regards to Iranian prisoners who endure mistreatments by Iranian officials and specifically those systematically deprived of needed medical treatment as means of torture.
