For decades, the Iranian regime has employed a narrative of fear, portraying itself as the only viable choice for governance.

It claims that without its control, Iran would descend into chaos, mirroring crises in Syria or Libya. This message, coupled with allegations of division among monarchist remnants, aims to stifle internal dissent and dissuade international support for Iranian opposition groups. However, the narrative crumbles under scrutiny, revealing a credible alternative: the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).

Exposing a Failing Narrative

The regime’s strategy of suppressing resistance while promoting a myth of chaos is evident in its brutal responses to public uprisings, from 2009 to the nationwide protests of 2022. By portraying the opposition as ineffective, the regime hopes to maintain its grip on power and discourage external intervention. This approach is supported by voices in the West that advocate for appeasement, often overlooking the NCRI’s legitimacy and vision for democratic governance.

The NCRI: A Democratic Alternative

The NCRI, led by Maryam Rajavi, represents a comprehensive and structured solution to Iran’s authoritarian rule. Its cornerstone is a Ten-Point Plan advocating democracy, human rights, gender equality, and a non-nuclear Iran. This vision has garnered support from over 125 former heads of state, 4,000 parliamentarians, and Nobel laureates. Unlike the regime, the NCRI prioritizes sovereignty for the Iranian people through democratic processes.

A Proven Resistance Movement

The NCRI’s principal member organization, the People’s Mojahedin of Iran (PMOI/MEK), has endured decades of persecution, with over 120,000 members executed since 1980. Despite this, it maintains a robust network within Iran, evidenced by its coordinated acts of defiance against the regime. Furthermore, the NCRI has exposed key secrets of Iran’s nuclear and intelligence activities, underscoring its deep infiltration of state structures.

A Path to Stability

The NCRI’s transition plan includes forming a provisional government to organize elections for a new constitution, ensuring stability post-regime change. Financially independent and strategically organized, the NCRI has demonstrated its capability through initiatives like uncovering Iran’s clandestine programs and mobilizing the global Iranian diaspora.
