Iran’s Regime Intensifies Crackdown on Dissidents as Resistance Grows

The regime has announced a major court case against over 100 members of the PMOI and the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), with hearings set to commence this week. This move, heavily publicized for months, represents an intensified effort by the regime to instill fear among the public and dissuade them from supporting the resistance.

Despite the regime’s aggressive tactics, the Iranian youth remain undeterred, even emboldened in their commitment to the PMOI’s mission to overthrow what they term as ‘religious fascism’ in Iran. Recent activities by Resistance Units underscore this unwavering dedication to the cause.

In Tehran, a demonstration by Resistance Units included a march in the hills, where participants displayed a placard condemning the regime as the root of criminal activities. Another significant event saw a member showcasing a picture of Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi, boldly declaring the Resistance Units as the true representatives of the PMOI in the courts overseen by Supreme Leader Khamenei.

Further actions include a Resistance Unit member in Tehran demanding regime leaders be tried in an international court for their extensive record of human rights abuses. Meanwhile, in Kermanshah and Mashhad, similar displays of defiance were evident with messages reinforcing the Resistance Units’ role as legitimate defenders of the PMOI.

The regime’s legal threats against the Resistance, while alarming, are not surprising. Notably, the international community, including 124 former world leaders and 3,600 lawmakers from 40 countries, has called for accountability for the regime’s leadership, particularly concerning the 1988 massacre of 30,000 political prisoners.

This global wave of support for the Iranian people, fueled by domestic uprisings and decades of organized resistance, contrasts starkly with the regime’s judicial response, known for its brutal executions and torture.

The regime's history of extrajudicial killings of PMOI supporters and the notorious 1988 fatwa by former Supreme Leader Ruhollah Khomeini, which ordered the execution of all loyal PMOI members, exemplify its longstanding disregard for legal norms.

The regime’s continuous persecution of the PMOI, far from conforming to any legal standard, reflects a pattern of ruthless suppression. This enduring climate of oppression has only solidified the resolve of the PMOI and the Resistance Units, who remain steadfast in their struggle for freedom and justice in every corner of Iran.
