In recent discourse emanating from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Intelligence Organization, a contentious spotlight has been cast upon the burgeoning resistance movement within Iran, particularly regarding women's rights.

The acknowledgment of Iran’s Resistance by this authoritative entity underscores a profound societal shift, both domestically and internationally, against the entrenched misogynistic regime of the mullahs.

In an interview with Mashregh News on April 28, a spokesperson for the IRGC Intelligence Organization attempted to discredit the growing support for the Iranian Resistance, attributing it to a purported Western conspiracy.

Notably, the spokesperson failed to acknowledge the pivotal role played by figures such as Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Resistance Council of Iran (NCRI), who herself is a Muslim woman wearing a veil. Rajavi’s advocacy for women’s empowerment and her warnings to the clerical regime have resonated deeply within Iran and beyond.

Mashregh News also highlighted the regime’s paranoia regarding Western influences on Iranian women, particularly regarding the issue of hijab. The outlet claimed that foreign media strategically target women as agents of societal change, seeking to dismantle religious teachings and promote Western ideals. Similarly, the Javan newspaper, another IRGC-affiliated outlet, dismissed movements advocating for the abolition of compulsory hijab as mere fabrications of foreign agendas.

Yet, history tells a different story. Maryam Rajavi’s prescient warnings to the regime in 1996, delivered during a rally in London, foretold a future where Iranian women would lead the charge against oppression. Despite the regime’s efforts to suppress and demean Iranian women, their resilience and determination remain unwavering.

As Iran grapples with internal dissent and external scrutiny, the struggle for women’s rights emerges as a pivotal battleground. The voices of Iranian women, empowered by a shared vision of equality and justice, continue to reverberate across the nation, challenging the very foundations of the misogynistic regime. In their quest for liberation, Iranian women stand united, poised to shape the destiny of their nation and inspire change on a global scale.
