Tehran Province’s Revision Court upheld the rulings for the imprisonment of journalist Saeedeh Shafiei and journalist Nasim Sultan Beigi on Saturday, September 18, 2023.
Saeedeh Shafiei was sentenced to seven months and 16 days of imprisonment for disseminating “propaganda against the state.” She was also sentenced to three years and six months on the charge of “assembly and collusion” against national security.
Security forces arrested Ms. Shafiei on January 22, 2023. She was later released on bail on February 7, temporarily until final disposition of her case.
