In a powerful address at the Free Iran 2024 World Summit in Paris, former U.S. Vice President Mike Pence passionately highlighted the strength and resilience of the Iranian resistance movement.

The event, attended by global leaders and dignitaries, underscored the growing momentum for change in Iran and the international support for a free and democratic Iranian Republic.

Pence began his speech by expressing gratitude to the attendees, particularly praising the late Senator Joe Lieberman for his unwavering support for the Iranian people’s quest for freedom. “We will remember and be grateful for the life and work of Senator Joe Lieberman,” Pence said, acknowledging the late senator’s contributions.

A significant portion of Pence’s speech focused on the death of Ebrahim Raïsi, the clerical regime’s president, which Pence described as a pivotal moment. He characterized Raïsi’s tenure as a “desperate attempt by the regime to quash dissent,” a mission that ultimately failed. “Raïsi died of failure because the resistance is stronger than ever before,” Pence declared, emphasizing the growing strength of the resistance movement.

Pence also highlighted the recent presidential election in Iran, which saw the lowest turnout since the revolution, interpreting this as a clear rejection of the regime’s legitimacy by the Iranian people. “The people of Iran know that the election was a sham. They aren’t willing to participate in a charade that is only intended to legitimize the regime in the eyes of the outside world,” he stated.

The former Vice President underscored the importance of a well-organized resistance for achieving lasting change in Iran, praising the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) for its leadership and effectiveness. “The good news is that movement exists. That movement is the National Council of Resistance of Iran,” Pence affirmed.

Pence’s speech resonated with a message of hope and solidarity, urging the global community to support the Iranian people’s fight for freedom. “Keep working, keep fighting, never stop believing in a free Iran,” he implored. He also criticized the current U.S. administration’s approach to Iran, particularly efforts to restore the Iran nuclear deal. “These actions by the current American administration are naive and dangerous,” Pence warned.

In closing, Pence expressed his unwavering belief in the eventual liberation of Iran. “The day will come when the unelected Ayatollahs release their iron-fisted grip on Iran and their people,” he predicted. “A new glorious day will dawn, ushering in an era of peace, prosperity, stability, and a spirit of freedom for the good people of your country.”

The Free Iran 2024 World Summit served as a powerful platform for reiterating international support for Iran’s resistance movement, with Pence’s address highlighting the enduring hope for a free and democratic Iran.
