Ahead of the Iranian regime’s sham parliamentary elections, scheduled for next week, regime authorities are going to great lengths to plead with the people to vote and offer the regime a façade of legitimacy. But the Resistance Units.

The PMOI’s network of activists inside Iran, are reflecting the true voice of the Iranian people with their activities across the country. Their message: It isn’t time for elections, it is time for a revolution.

In Tehran, the Resistance Units hung a placard with the image of resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and the message: “The time for elections in this regime is over. It’s time for uprisings and revolutions.”In Eslam Abad-e Gharb, Resistance Unit members held placards with the message, “The vote of Iran’s people is the overthrow of the religious dictatorship.”

In Kazerun, the Resistance Units installed posters that rejected the regime’s elections and also echoed the voice of the Iranian people that stresses Iran will not accept any form of dictatorship: “Down with the oppressor, be it the shah or the mullahs.”In Mashhad, the Resistance Units installed billboards with the message: “In this regime, there is no room for elections. It’s time for a revolution.”

In Garmsar, the Resistance Units wrote the slogan “My vote is regime change” on walls. At the same time, Resistance Units in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province held activities, reiterating their commitment to regime change and rejecting the regime’s sham elections.

Resistance Units held placards with messages such as “The cry of Baluchestan: In this regime, there is no room for elections it is time for a revolution” and “The heroes of Zahedan will not back away from prison and executions.” Having suffered doubly from the crimes of the mullahs and the shah are making it clear that while the people of Iran are striving for the overthrow of the mullahs’ regime, they will not return to the dictatorship of the overthrown monarch.

“Stop the silence toward the crimes of the shah and the mullahs it is time to rise up,” the Resistance Units said in their slogans. They also reiterated that “Torture and execution are the tools of the shah and mullahs’ dictatorships” and stressed that , whoever votes [in the regime’s elections] is either a traitor or ignorant.”

These activities were held in different cities of Sistan and Baluchestan, including Zahedan and Iranshahr. The activities of the Resistance Units come as the regime is on a mass campaign to sell its elections to the public while at the same time it is trying to spread terror among the public to prevent and form of dissent.

The regime has been particularly harsh toward the supporters of PMOI and the families of Iranian Resistance members with heavy prison sentences. But every day, the ranks of the Resistance Units continue to expand, proving the regime’s failure in its efforts.
