The strike in Zahedan is part of a wider wave of demonstrations sweeping through Iran, driven by mounting economic grievances and frustration with the government’s handling of the crisis. The situation was further inflamed by a recent incident in which security forces reportedly shot and killed a Baluchi fuel transporter in Zahedan.
