Simaye Azadi, the satellite TV channel representing the Iranian Resistance, has concluded its 29th telethon with unprecedented success, raising 599 billion tomans ($7.31 million). Over 54 hours, from January 17 to January 21, Iranians worldwide rallied to support this independent media outlet, which plays a pivotal role in exposing the regime’s human rights abuses and championing the movement for democracy in Iran.
Despite widespread economic hardships and oppressive conditions, contributions poured in from inside Iran and abroad, demonstrating the channel’s vital role as a lifeline for millions. Political prisoners, academics, and ordinary citizens alike pledged support, highlighting Simaye Azadi’s unique position as a beacon of hope for Iranians. A striking example came from Sepideh, an elderly woman from Mashhad, who donated 80 million rials despite personal financial struggles, declaring, “Simaye Azadi is the light of our home… We are ready to fight until freedom is achieved.”

Samira from Kurdistan pledged her monthly medication expenses, reaffirming her belief in the Iranian Resistance under the leadership of Maryam Rajavi. Meanwhile, Saeed from Norway led a collective contribution of 260,500 Norwegian krones, describing the channel as “the voice of freedom.”
Simaye Azadi’s financial independence is maintained entirely through public contributions, ensuring it remains free from state influence or propaganda. The telethon also drew endorsements from international figures such as John Perry, a former Irish government minister, and The Rt. Hon. David Jones from the UK, both emphasizing the channel’s critical role in amplifying Iran’s struggle for democracy.
Messages from political prisoners, including women inside Iran’s notorious Evin Prison, further underscored the channel’s importance. Describing Simaye Azadi as “the voice of the uprising and the people’s hope,” these testimonies reaffirmed the channel’s role as a platform for the oppressed.

The telethon transcended borders, with contributions from over 40 countries symbolizing global solidarity with Iran’s resistance movement. Whether through financial support, personal sacrifice, or messages of perseverance, participants sent a clear message: the fight for a free and democratic Iran continues.
As Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, stated, “Every step taken for the Resistance is a step toward reclaiming Iran’s freedom.” Simaye Azadi’s milestone telethon reflects a united front against tyranny, lighting the path toward a democratic future.
