November 15 marked the somber fourth anniversary of the nationwide uprising in Iran that unfolded in 2019. Triggered by a sudden surge in fuel prices, the protests rapidly spread to over 190 cities, unveiling public discontent towards the long-standing regime’s repression and corruption.

Lasting for weeks, the protests posed an unprecedented challenge to the regime’s authority. However, the brutal suppression by the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), Basij, and State Security Forces (SSF) prevented its collapse, resulting in the tragic death of more than 1,500 unarmed protesters.

On this anniversary, the Resistance Units, a network of supporters inside Iran, engaged in activities across the country, affirming their commitment to the uprising’s martyrs and the goal of overthrowing the mullahs’ rule.

In Isfahan, Resistance Units displayed images of Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi with the resolute message, “The overthrow of the anti-humane enemy is inevitable.” Meanwhile, in Mashhad, the call to expand the Resistance Units echoed, illustrated by an image of Massoud Rajavi, and in Langrud, posters declared, “On the anniversary of the uprising, the children of Iran will be on the maximum offensive.”

Zanjan witnessed a proclamation on a poster of Maryam Rajavi, stating, “The people of Iran are determined to overthrow the mullahs’ regime and to establish a democratic republic.” Similar messages resonated in Chalus, Tabriz, and Tehran, where Resistance Units members emphasized the significant role of women in the ongoing struggle.

Despite the regime’s brutal suppression in 2019 and subsequent efforts to divert attention, the root causes of discontent persisted. In 2022, the murder of Mahsa Amini reignited anti-regime protests in over 190 cities, lasting for months and bringing the regime closer to its downfall.

Today, the regime, fearful of its diminishing power and anticipating further protests, attempts to leverage external factors like the war in Gaza to divert attention. However, the Resistance Units persistently counter these tactics, reiterating the Iranian people’s determination for change and the establishment of a democratic republic. The struggle continues, and the regime’s grip on power remains precarious in the face of resolute opposition.
