Iran’s Ahmadinejad says Israel will be wiped off the earth

ImageTehran, Iran, Oct. 26 – Iran’s hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad charted his government’s unyielding course vis-à-vis the state of Israel while totally rejecting the Middle East roadmap to peace as a diversion from the crusader wars between the Islamic world and World Arrogance, or the United States.

Speaking at a seminar entitled “World without Zionism”, Ahmadinejad said that Israel was the product of an ideological war between the “Arrogant World Order” and the “Islamic rule”, adding that the Jewish state had to be wiped off the face of the earth.

Opponents of war and nuclear weapons rally in front of the Russian Consulate

On Tuesday 25th.Oct.2005 opponents of nuclear weapons and war in general assembled in a protest rally in San Francisco.

The protesters displayed placards condemning the Mullah regime’s attempts to manufacture nuclear weapons, and demanded a decisive policy from the international community, in particular ensuring the referral of the Iranian regime’s atomic programme to the United Nations.

Iran street-parades 22-year-old man

ImageTehran, Iran, Oct. 25 – A 22-year-old man from the town of Varamin, southern Tehran, was street-paraded and sentenced to lashes for instigating trouble, a semi-official daily wrote on Monday.

The young man, only identified as Hashem M. (a.k.a. Hashem Sagi), was accused of “causing trouble”, drinking alcohol, disrupting national security, and taking part in scuffles, the daily Kayhan wrote.

The meeting started with an interesting slide show of various cultural, natural and archaeological places of interest in Iran and continued with a film about fundamentalism, the new global threat.

Supporters of Friends of humanity and other opponents of war and nuclear weapons staged a protest rally on Monday 24th.Oct.2005, in front of Russian Consulate in Huston.
Participants stressed the demands of the Iranian people and of international community to refer the Iranian regime’s nuclear programme to the UN.  They also called for an end to the policy of appeasement with this inhuman regime.

Iran President ridicules West’s handling of nuclear standoff

ImageTehran, Iran, Oct. 24 – Iran’s hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad charted an intransigent course for his country’s controversial nuclear program and mocked the West’s response to the recent resumption of nuclear activities by Iran, which was sharply condemned in a European-sponsored resolution by the board of governors of the United Nations nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Speaking at a gathering of university students in Tehran, Ahmadinejad said of the West’s response, “At first, they made a lot of noise about it, but gradually they were made to sit down quietly”.

Iran-Russia: Iranians call on Russia to refer mullahs’ nuclear file to U.N. Security Council

Image October 20 – Russia was urged to help refer the Iranian regime’s nuclear dossier to the United Nations Security Council by Iranians who gathered in Berlin outside the country’s embassy on Wednesday.

Supporters of Friends of Humanity and other Iranian opponents called for an end to the policy of appeasement vis-à-vis the clerical regime and the enforcement of an oil embargo to compel the regime to fulfill its international obligations.

The participants in this gathering condemned human rights violations in Iran and stressed that the mullahs needed nuclear weapons to further their terrorist ambitions.

Amnesty rips Iran for child executions

ImageTehran, Iran, Oct. 20 – A top international human rights organisation condemned Iran on Thursday for handing down death sentences to minors and continuing to issue sentences of stoning to death.

Amnesty International said that it was “outraged” at the sentences.

“Iran has executed at least seven juvenile offenders in 2005 including two minors who were under 18 at the time of their execution”, Amnesty said in a statement.

Amnesty said that a draft law currently under consideration fell “far short” of the measures which Iran had to fulfil to meet its international obligations under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) and the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC).

Thousands of students protest sex segregation in central Iran

ImageTehran, Iran, Oct. 19 – Thousands of students from the Najaf-Abad Open University demonstrated on campus on Tuesday against new sex segregation rules, Iran Focus has learnt.

The demonstration, however, turned violent after security forces attacked the roughly 7,000 angry students. Many of the students were forcefully locked in several rooms in the university building.

Students complained against new measures implemented on campus, including separate entrances and exits for male and female students, refusal of entry for students with long hair, short-sleeve shirts, bright-coloured clothes, or sports shoes.

Iran sentences woman to execution

ImageTehran, Iran, Oct. 18 – An Iranian woman was sentenced to execution in the Iranian capital on Monday, a state-run daily reported on Tuesday.

The woman, only identified by her first name Raheleh, was found guilty of murdering her husband, whom she had accused of having an affair with a younger woman, the daily Javan wrote.
