Iran using Hezbollah to dodge Security Council, U.S. Ambassador says

iran nuclearVoice of America, August 8 – Gregory Schulte, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency, says that Iran is trying to maximize its gains from the current Lebanese crisis to remain indifferent to United Nations’ recommendations and mandates. However, Mr. Schulte says such methods will not get anywhere.

Schulte adds: Take a look at the events in the Middle East, the current violence has been inflamed to a large extent by the Hezbollah and Hezbollah is a terrorist group created by the radical leaders of Iran and is presently being backed by Iran’s clerical regime. It is in view of these facts that we are absolutely against acquisition of nuclear weapons by such a leadership….

If Iran does not comply with the UN Security Council mandates, it may face economic and diplomatic sanctions.
