Stop Fundamentalism – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad removed his Health Minister from her post, today.  The minister was Iran’s first female minister since the Islamic Republic was founded by Ayatollah Khomeini over 30 years ago.

Iran’s former health minister, Marzieh Vahid Dastjerdi, had reputedly criticized government and specifically Iran’s Central Bank during the past few months for not providing enough and adequet foreign exchange money to provide for import of the medications the country needed.

“People’s lives depend on medication and this cannot be joked with,” Dastjerdi is quoted to have said by Fars News.

Other reports say that it seems one of the reasons Dastjerdi was removed was her failure to act on president Ahmadinejad’s orders in removing the head of Medical Sciences University.
