Stop Fundamentalism – In a sudden move, Esfandiar Rahim Mashai, close friend and relative of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, President of Iran has left his post as the Head of President’s office, say Iran’s Fars News agency.
Ahmadinejad has endured much heat following the 2009 disputed presidential elections for keeping Mashai ?n his cabinet. Many attribute the quarrel between Ahmadinejad and Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei to president’s relationship with Rahim Mashai.
Immediately after Mashai announced his departure, Ahmadinejad once again appointed him as his advisor and Iran’s secretariat to the Non-Aligned Movement.
Some observers speculate that the move may be in preparation to nominate Mashai in the coming up presidential elections in 2013.
