 The Iranian regime has arrested two relatives of members of the main opposition group People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (or MEK) in the past week in the city of Karaj, north-west of Tehran.

According to received reports, the fundamentalist regime’s intelligence agents on Monday, December 21 raided a party that had been organized by PMOI supporters and their relatives to mark ‘Shab-e Yalda’, the longest night of the year, in Karaj.

At least two relatives of PMOI members were arrested in the raid. They were Ms. Fatemeh Rezvani, whose brother Qassem Rezvani was a PMOI member who was killed in the 2011 massacre at Camp Ashraf in Iraq, and Ms. Azar Karvandi who is a former political prisoner of the 1980s and mother of a PMOI member currently in Camp Liberty, Iraq.

After arresting these two women, the intelligence agents also raided and ransacked their homes and confiscated their photo albums and other personal belongings.

There is no concrete information about their current state, but there are reports that Ms. Rezvani and Ms. Karvandi are currently in detention in Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison.in the past week in the city of Karaj, north-west of Tehran.
