Iran’s regime, increasingly alarmed by the growing influence and activities of the Iranian Resistance, has intensified its crackdown on dissidents, particularly targeting those associated with the People’s Mojahedin of Iran (PMOI/MEK).

In a recent move, the regime has scheduled a court case against over 100 members of the PMOI and the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI). This high-profile case, heavily publicized for months, is set to commence this week, marking another attempt by the authorities to instill fear among the public and quash dissent.

Despite the regime’s relentless efforts to undermine the Resistance, including using propaganda to discourage Iran’s youth from supporting the PMOI, the opposite effect has been observed. The youth’s resolve to join and support the movement against the current religious dictatorship has only strengthened. This defiance is rooted in a collective aspiration to overthrow the oppressive regime that has long exploited Iran for its malicious objectives.

The Resistance Units, a significant part of the PMOI, have reaffirmed their commitment to the cause. In a symbolic gesture in Tehran, a group marched in the hills, brandishing a placard that boldly declared, “The head of the snake [Iran’s regime] is the perpetrator of any crime.” This act of defiance showcases the unwavering spirit of the Resistance Units, despite the regime’s ongoing threats and repressive tactics.

Similarly, in various cities like Tehran, Kermanshah, and Mashhad, members of the Resistance Units displayed messages and images that underscored their role as the true representatives and defenders of the PMOI’s cause. These acts of solidarity highlight a unified front against the regime’s injustices, emphasizing their demand for accountability and justice.

The regime’s decision to use its judiciary system, notorious for executions and torture, against the PMOI members has been met with international condemnation. Notably, 124 former world leaders and 3,600 lawmakers from 40 countries have called for the prosecution of the Iranian regime for crimes against humanity, particularly focusing on the 1988 massacre of 30,000 political prisoners.

This growing international support for the Iranian people, coupled with domestic uprisings and decades of organized resistance, poses a significant challenge to the regime. Yet, the regime’s response remains anchored in its history of brutality and disregard for legal norms. This is evident from the extrajudicial executions of PMOI supporters and the infamous 1988 fatwa by then-Supreme Leader Ruhollah Khomeini, which called for the execution of all loyal PMOI members.

In conclusion, the Iranian regime's latest actions reflect its fear of the PMOI and the broader Resistance movement.

However, the response of the Iranian people and the international community signals a growing resistance, one that the regime can no longer ignore or suppress with mere show trials and propaganda. As history has shown, the PMOI’s enduring struggle for freedom and democracy remains undeterred, echoing in every corner of Iran today.
