Resistance Units Commemorate PMOI Martyrs Amid Escalating Suppression

In a poignant display of defiance against the oppressive regime, the Resistance Units, the clandestine network supporting the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) within Iran, orchestrated a series of activities to honor the memory of Ashraf Rajavi, Mousa Khiabani, and other PMOI members who fell victim to the Revolutionary Guards on February 8, 1982.

Stretching from north to south and east to west, these commemorations unfolded in cities such as Rasht, Tehran, Karaj, Shiraz, Isfahan, Sari, Babol, Nowshahr, Sanandaj, Qazvin, Kermanshah, Bandar Abbas, Zahedan, and Sabzevar. The activities encompassed the hanging of banners, painting slogans, and distributing flyers bearing powerful messages from Masoud Rajavi and Maryam Rajavi. These messages conveyed the ideals of sacrifice, resistance, and the unwavering commitment to continue the struggle until the overthrow of the Islamic Republic regime.

In Tehran, a banner echoed words from Maryam Rajavi, the elected president of the resistance, declaring, “Ashraf and Mousa set examples of self-sacrifice for the people of Iran.” Rasht featured a large banner proclaiming “Ashraf and Mousa, immortal symbols of the Iranian people.” Commemoration ceremonies in Tehran included the participation of Resistance Units, and a banner with words from Maryam Rajavi was hung, emphasizing the everlasting impact of Ashraf and Mousa.

Throughout these activities, the Resistance Units not only paid tribute to the martyrs but also underscored their unyielding determination to pursue the ultimate goal of liberation.

In various cities, flyers were distributed declaring, “The path of Ashraf and Mousa will continue until this regime is overthrown,” while posters asserted, “The blood of Ashraf and Mousa lives through the young generation.” The installations in different locales, including Shiraz, Sanandaj, and Sari, embodied a collective commitment to the cause.

These activities reveal the profound connection between generations of freedom fighters, affirming that the sacrifice of PMOI martyrs continues to inspire the youth and pioneers of freedom in Iran. The distribution of flyers and hanging of banners served as a medium to convey the imperative of persisting in the struggle and preserving the principles upheld by the martyrs on the path to freedom.

As the Resistance Units intensified their activities, the regime, desperate to suppress support for the PMOI and the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), resorted to a court case against over 100 members of these organizations. Despite the regime’s efforts to instill fear through propaganda and repressive measures, Iran’s youth remain undeterred, steadfastly joining the movement to overthrow the tyrannical rule that has plagued Iran for far too long.
