Romanian Parliamentarians Call on EU to Condemn Iranian Regime’s Actions and Protect PMOI/MEK Supporters

In a poignant plea to European Council President Charles Michel, members of the Committee of Romanian Parliamentarians for a Free Iran (CRPFI), including Dan-Cristian Popescu, Maria Grecea, and Liviu Titus Pasca, have voiced their deep concerns regarding the Iranian regime's ongoing aggression against the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and its steadfast supporters.

This fervent appeal comes as a response to the alarming escalation of hostilities by the Iranian government.

The CRPFI, drawing attention to the Iranian regime’s history of brutal attacks on the Iranian Resistance, shed light on a recent development: the issuance of arrest warrants by Iran’s Judiciary against the MEK and 104 individuals residing in European countries. This audacious move lays bare the regime’s desperation in the face of mounting internal dissent, resorting to international persecution as a means to silence its critics.

In their impassioned plea, the Romanian parliamentarians implore the European Union to stand unwaveringly by its democratic principles. They call for resolute action in support of the establishment of an international tribunal tasked with holding the Iranian regime accountable for its egregious crimes against humanity.

Furthermore, they emphasize the paramount importance of safeguarding Iranian political refugees residing within Ashraf-3 and providing them with the protection they deserve.

This clarion call from the CRPFI resonates as a resounding affirmation of the need for a steadfast and unyielding stance against the Iranian regime’s conspiratorial actions. As the international community grapples with the urgency of the situation, it is imperative for the European Union and its leaders to heed this call and take decisive measures to ensure justice, democracy, and safety for all those affected by the Iranian regime’s ruthless campaign.
