BAGHDAD, Iraq, Dec. 13 – Less than two days before nationwide elections, the Iraqi border police seized a tanker on Tuesday that had just crossed from Iran filled with thousands of forged ballots, an official at the Interior Ministry said.
The tanker was seized in the evening by agents with the American-trained border protection force at the Iraqi town of Badra, after crossing at Munthirya on the Iraqi border, the official said. According to the Iraqi official, the border police found several thousand partly completed ballots inside.

(AKI) – After receiving numerous allegations that juveniles have been executed in Iran over the past year, a United Nations rights expert is calling on the country’s government not to carry out the death penalty against Rostam Tajik, a 20-year-old Afghan national who was only 16 when he is alleged to have committed murder.

Stopfundamentalism.comThe state-run daily Hamshahri wrote on December 11, that the clerical regime’s judiciary had condemned a woman identified only as Masoumeh and resident of Varamin (near Tehran) to death by stoning. This is the second person sentenced to death by stoning in the past two months. More than 110 persons have been hanged or sentenced to death since Mahmoud Ahmadinejad took office. Several victims were under 18 years of age at the time of the alleged offence.
