The Iranian regime’s continued belligerence around the world is still of major concern. Its activities in Europe are particularly worrying, especially in Albania where many members of the main opposition are currently residing.

It was recently reported that an individual identified by the initials B.P. was arrested by the Albanian authorities. It has since come to light that the individual – Bijan Pooladrag – was expelled by the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran). in September of last year.

The (PMOI / MEK Iran) had given him thousands of euros of humanitarian aid. The Albanian authorities arrested him for a number of criminal acts, including the “illegal interception of computer data”, “interference in computer data”, “interference in computer systems” and the “misuse of equipment”. It was also discovered that he was covertly listening to and tracking individuals via a network messaging application.

The Iranian regime has a number of agents posted in Albania, to spy on the main opposition and keep tabs on what they are doing. Pooladrag is not the first agent sent by the Iranian regime to Albania. The (PMOI / MEK Iran), has revealed the identity of numerous MOIS agents.

In August last year, Ehsan Bidi was arrested and subsequently deported from the country. MOIS agent Daniel Kasraei posed as a journalist to spy on the (PMOI / MEK Iran) and was expelled from Albania a few months ago.

The Iranian regime’s embassy has been spreading disinformation about the main opposition group and Gholamreza Shekari was arrested for his involvement in this. He is now serving time in prison.

Gholam-Ali Mirzaei was allowed to return to Iran if he demonized the main opposition, which he did on a program that was aired by the BBC’s Persian service on 20th September. Hassan Heyrani, another MOIS agent, was also involved with the BBC piece. Earlier this year, the National Council of Resistance of Iran’s (NCRI)’s Security and Counterterrorism Committee drew attention to Heyrani, indicating that he has been caught doing several activities against the (PMOI / MEK Iran).

The fact that the Iranian regime has so brazenly been carrying out operations in Europe is deeply concerning, especially considering numerous of its agents have been arrested. It is important for the international community to act and to hold the regime accountable. Preventative measures must also be taken by countries, in particular European countries, including the expulsion of the regime’s agents and the closure of its embassies.

The biggest threat to the Iranian regime’s survival is the people of Iran and the organized opposition. The (PMOI / MEK Iran) and the NCRI are drawing attention to the regime’s belligerence and the people’s fight for freedom, human rights, and democracy. The opposition is drawing international attention to the regime’s crimes and it is gathering support from around the world.

The regime has tried to silence the opposition on many occasions over the past few decades. It is trying to neutralize the threat that it poses, but all it is actually doing is making the people of Iran and the Iranian Resistance more determined than ever to see it fall.
