Iranian Regime Tries to Stem the Incoming Tide of Dissent

mullahs’ regime is no longer viable and it is near its end

Saeed Moidfar, a sociologist in Iran’s regime, made his views known to the state-run Etemad Online website that the mullahs’ regime is no longer viable and it is near its end.  The “convicts,” as he calls them, are fully aware that nothing but destruction will be their demise.

Moidfar, a retired sociologist who is now an advisor to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development in Hassan Rouhani’s government, says the collapse of Iran’s ruling regime is inevitable due to the backlog of problems and contradictions. This will happen either ‘outside the government or even between insiders and outsiders.’

In an interview conducted by Etemad Online on May 18th, 2020, Moidfar claimed that the current regime, if it makes even the slightest change, is unable to adapt to that change.

According to Moidfar, he says that despite the fact that the country’s leaders are fully aware of the present problems, they are still moving in the wrong direction. If they want to go back the wrong way for a while, it will be at such a fast speed that the regime could collapse.

Moidfar says there is a deepening of the enormous gap between government and society. The coronavirus crisis is leading ordinary people to reject the government completely. One of the key issues was the slowness in closing the borders with China. Because it failed to do this it was the second country to get the virus which has now affected hundreds of thousands of vulnerable lives. He emphasizes that there is now a rift that exists at the government level.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK) announced this afternoon, Wednesday, May 20, 2020, that the Coronavirus death toll in 319 cities across Iran has ached exceeded 43,100

Moidfar now believes unquestionably that it would just take one more incident and the whole system would inevitably collapse. He believes that because it has resisted the need to change and moved too quickly in the wrong direction, that the rest of the society will bring the country to its knees.

He says now something needs to be done as the mullahs have failed to handle the epidemic responsibly and now they have nowhere to go.

the regime’s experts are predicting that a major uprising is coming soon; potentially big enough to overthrow the regime.

The widespread dissatisfaction and uprisings of the Iranian people, especially the recent uprisings in November 2019 and January 2020, led by the organized Iranian Resistance, The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) MEK Resistance Units across the country, are leading the regime to its inevitable fate of overthrow.

As Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Iran said in March: “There is a single solution for Coronavirus, for poverty, for oppression and tyranny. That solution is overthrowing the mullahs’ religious dictatorship in its entirety.”
