Iran: Independent Inquiry Needed for Ukrainian Airliner Crash

(NCRI) and (PMOI / MEK Iran): The regime was forced to admit on January 11 that they had shot down the passenger jet three days earlier, which led to protests over this heinous act and the secrecy surrounding it.

The mullahs’ regime no longer wants to admit the role it played in the Ukrainian passenger jet disaster, killing 176 passengers. They have now pretended that it was caused by an unlicensed operator who hadn’t a clue as to what he was doing.

These are words spoken by Gholam-Abbas Torki, Tehran’s military prosecutor, who also admitted that the operator did not have a license to initiate a task like this.

It seems what the Iranian regime is really doing is covering up the role of the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC)  so that it can give more support to the Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, and President Hassan Rouhani, so they won’t be held responsible for the tragedy.

Initially, after 11th January, following the crash, the Iranian regime spent 3 days pretending it was nothing to do with them then they finally admitted it was responsible for shooting down the Ukrainian passenger jet. This immediately led to university students and others to take part in protests demanding a change in the regime.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran) said at the time of this tragedy: The Mullahs regime is clearly trying to cover up and minimize its involvement in the air tragedy. However, its denials and misinformation show that the regime has more to hide than it cares to let on. Once again, it is up to the international community to ensure that the regime is not given a free pass for its malign intentions and actions.

“The disclosure of the audio makes it clear that the control tower, and by extension the regime’s Civil Aviation Organization (CAO), had been immediately informed of the shooting down of the Ukrainian passenger jet,” said the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), in a press release.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), pointed out that “Downing of a passenger jet is a major crime that people will neither forgive nor forget. The regime had given advance warning about its missile attack on American bases to the Iraqi government and its military and through them to the US. But did not issue any advance notice to our compatriots and did not cancel passenger flights in Iran:”
