Women hung in secret executions

At least two women were hanged to death on the eve of International Women’s Day in a prison in Iran. One of the prisoners, identified as Mehrnoosh Qavasi, was in her fifties. She was executed after serving many years in prison.

Before being transferred to Qezel Hesar Prison in the city of Karaj for execution, the two victims were held in the infamous Qarchak (Gharchak) women’s prison in the city of Varamin where conditions are harsh.

International Women’s Day celebrated in Berlin

On Saturday, March 7, a grand gathering, “For Tolerance and Equality against Fundamentalism and Misogyny”, was held in Berlin to mark the International Women’s Day and address the many challenges and hurdles in the pursuit of gender equality. NCRI unveils secret nuclear site in Iran

The prominent Iranian opposition group, National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), on Tuesday revealed that the Iranian regime is operating a secret uranium enrichment site near Tehran, which violated ongoing talks with international powers on a nuclear deal.

Human Rights Groups call on Iran to stop the execution of political prisoners

Saman Naseem, an Iranian-Kurdish man was arrested at the mere age of seventeen; he underwent false trials where he was prosecuted on the charges of “enmity with God” and “Corruption on Earth”. 

He was sentenced to death by these sham Mullah Courts and the decision was upheld by the regimes supreme courts in 2014. Catherine Ray the EU spokesperson for foreign affairs urged the Iranian authorities not to execute Saman. Mrs Ray said, “We call on the Iranian authorities to abide by international human rights law, under which the execution of juvenile offenders is a violation of international minimum standards, and not to carry out the execution of Mr Naseem or any other juvenile offender.”
