Stop Fundamentalism, Nov 13 – Iranian top officials express concern over imminent sanctions against Iran in the UN Security Council.

“If the current draft resolution is ratified by the Security Council, Iran will reconsider its cooperation with the IAEA,” said Ali Larijani, Iranian nuclear negotiator.

Dariush Qanbari, member of Parliament’s Security Commission stated, “The wording of the resolution does not indicate limited sanctions and the Americans have imposed their will in this draft.”

International arrest warrant for former Iranian president

Stop Fundamentalism, Nov 13 – AFP reported November 9 that a judge issued an international arrest warrant Thursday for Iranian ex-president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani and other top former Tehran officials in the 1994 bombing of a Jewish charity in Argentina that killed 85 people.

Judge Rodolfo Canicoba Corral told AFP he had asked the government of Iran as well as Interpol to hand over the former president on a warrant issued for "crimes against humanity."

Iraq military leaves cancelled

Gulfnews, Nov 4 – All leave for Iraqi military officers has been cancelled in anticipation of a wave of violence following the sentencing of former Iraqi premier Saddam Hussain.

Defense Minister Abdul-Qader Al Obeidi issued the order cancelling all military leaves and ordering vacationing soldiers back to duty on Friday.
