Iranian rulers for years have tried to create a deceptive spiritual image of themselves in the eyes of Iranians and also the international Muslim community to make believe that they are some how “God sent.” atomi-nejad.jpg

If it was not for the inhumane and barbaric actions of these people, their actions could resemble a comedy in the eyes of a moderately sane observer. Knowing the true nature of this government and individuals, this would make quite a subject for cartoonists and comedy writers.

Recently, Ahmadinejad, the new President of Islamic Republic who had a début a few months ago as a hostage taker in 1979 American Embassy crisis in Tehran, claimed on public television that when speaking at the United Nations last September, he was "surrounded by a holy light."

Fundamentalism relies on unwary of the public to deceive and rule. By claiming to represent God on this plant, they torture and kill opponents, recruit suicide bombers and justify terrorism.

See the article about Ahmadinejad’s latest claims in this issue.

    Support World AIDS Day

Today is the world AIDS day 2005. We are wearing the Red Ribbon as a sign of support for people living with HIV and a symbol of hope for the future.

Speaking of hope for future, there is another world threatening disease called terrorism and fundamentalism which is growing daily not getting enough attention as it requires.

Disturbing news in the headlines today was about a Belgian woman who after marrying a Moroccan and converting to Islam went on to Iraq to take part in a suicide operation which resulted in killing of 6 Iraqi nationals and herself.

Terrorists are no longer limited to Middle East and are actively recruiting people even in Europe.

To stop these criminals, war is not the answer. But we must take away their weapon which is a backward version of Islam and also all the instruments of power.
